Become a Karger Ambassador
We are looking for interested researchers and healthcare industry professionals to be ambassadors among your networks. It is one way for us to support and show appreciation for excellence and commitment among author communities, including Early Career Researchers (ECRs) and industry professionals passionate about bridging knowledge gaps.
Why Should You Become an Ambassador?
- You enjoy making connections and being an active member of a community.
- You’re passionate about your work and/or studies in the health sciences.
- The prospect of gaining insight and expertise about publishing and key developments, such as Open Access, kindles a spark in you.
- You’re keen to bolster your CV with additional relevant experience and deepen your understanding of various relevant topics.
- You’d like to help your cohort learn about opportunities, gain visibility, and make an impact with their research work via publishing.
- You’d like to help your network discover opportunities to make an impact for patients and clinician communities by providing them with information via publishing.

Your Benefits

You will also receive information on our offerings and have the opportunity to make connections as a member of the Karger Ambassador network. To acknowledge your participation, recognize your efforts and show our appreciation, you will receive a certificate.

- Insights from scientific publishing experts, peers and others
- Discounts on Article Processing Charges (APCs); that is, publishing costs related to Open Access
- Opportunities to meet experts and colleagues at a relevant conference
- Early views of products and services, and the opportunity to help shape them via feedback
Your Role
What exactly do ambassadors do? The specific responsibilities may vary (depending on your location or discipline within health sciences, for example). But here are some of the activities you as an ambassador may carry out:
- Help spread the word about us to your cohort or professional communities.
- Share information about us at events such as subject area congresses or job fairs.
- Organize or moderate a webinar about a related topic.
- Tell us what you think about what we’re doing. We always strive to do our best to serve our communities of researchers, libraries, policymakers, patients and more!
- Stay in touch with us.
How Do You Become an Ambassador?
First, review this checklist to see if being an ambassador could be right for you:
- Are you active on at least two major social media networks and/or scientific social networks?
- Do you consider yourself good at connecting with people and networking?
- Have you authored/co-authored a published paper in the health sciences or worked with a publisher on a scientific publication project?
- Are you curious to better understand scientific publishing?
- Would you like to contribute to making publishing even better and help shape products that can bridge knowledge gaps?
